Our Master's program, which is entitled with "Master of Science M.Sc.", has a standard period of study of 4 semesters and compliments the Bachelor's degree with a fully professional, chamber-compatible and internationally recognized university degree. The full-time program starts either in the winter or summer semester and requires a high level of motivation. Admission requirements for the master's program consist of a bachelor's degree in architecture and a successful portfolio application.
The application period for the summer semester 2023 starts on the 16th January 2023. A link for the application will be activated, once the registration is completed through this link you will receive an automatic response email with all instructions for the online application.
The study program deepens the bachelor's education and also imparts a much more complex, interdisciplinary understanding of architecture. To achieve this, the program is divided into the continuation of a more general, design-oriented course (60% credit points) and an individual specialization (40% credit points).
The specialization can be done in various of fields such as Experimental Design, Experimental Urban Research, Sustainability and Architectural Performance, Real Estate Management and Project Development, Building with Existing Structures. These specialization areas are offered in compatibility for a research work of the participating professorships and their chairs. This includes seminar courses and a studio. The choice of specialization should be made after the first master's semester.
Application
The admission requirement for the master's program is proof of a successfully completed diploma or bachelor's degree at a university, technical university or university of applied sciences in the field of architecture with a standard period of study of at least six semesters (180 ECTS credit points), passing our Aptitude assessment procedure; and last but not least, proof of a 6-month full-time internship in an architectural office.
The Master's program can be pursued in winter or summer semester. The aptitude assessment is carried out by submitting a portfolio directly to the study program. Please note the information on deadlines in the "Studies" section above.
