Wuppertal architecture professor Guido Spars takes office as founding director of the Federal Foundation for the Building Academy
UNIV. PROF. DR. ING. GUIDO SPARS (DEPARTMENT OF THE ECONOMY OF PLANNING AND BUILDING) IS THE FOUNDING DIRECTOR OF THE FEDERAL FOUNDATION BAUAKADEMIE. HE TAKES OFF OFFICE IN SEPTEMBER. SPARS ASKED THE BERGIAN UNIVERSITY OF WUPPERTAL FOR LEAVE FOR HIS ACTIVITY, BUT WOULD LIKE TO MAINTAIN HIS PROFESSIONAL NETWORKING WITH THE COLLEGE AT THE FACULTY OF ARCHITECTURE AND CIVIL ENGINEERING AND CONTINUE THE EXCHANGE.
The German Bundestag has decided to rebuild the building academy built by Karl Friedrich Schinkel. It is intended to be a national showcase, forum and workshop for all relevant current topics relating to architecture, construction and urban development, and a place for information and discussion. The Board of Trustees of the Federal Foundation Bauakademie announced the election of Prof. Spars as founding director on March 11, 2021.
As founding director, Guido Spars is responsible for the strategic management and development of a viable and content-related concept as well as orientation and profiling in the regional, national and international specialist society of the Federal Foundation of Building Academy, but also in politics, society and the public. He will rely on suitable cooperation partners and develop the specific usage and space program for the construction of the academy building.
