Invitation: Ceremonial opening of the BmB archive - Building with existing structures
Prof. Georg Giebeler from the Chair of Building with Existing Contexts and Building Construction cordially invites you to the opening ceremony of the BmB Archive on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 7:00 pm at the ELBA-Fabrik (Moritzstr. 14, 42117 Wuppertal).
The event will take place as part of the two-day congress “Bauen mit Bestand: Konstruktion”. Professors and students from over 55 architecture faculties of German academies and universities of applied sciences will exchange ideas.
The BmB Archive: Construction is a collection of 3,000 structural drawings with 16,600 selected pages from historical books published between 1870 and 1965. There will be 3 questions on building construction discussed at the congress:
1. what are the competences of “building construction”?
2. what does the integration in lectures look like?
3. what needs to go out and what needs to go in?
